After losing her grandmother and great grandmother to breast cancer and witnessing her mother's own battle with the disease, Lindsay decided to undergo genetic testing and learned that she had an 87 percent risk for breast cancer. She made the difficult yet brave decision of having a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy—at the age of 23.

Six months after surgery, Lindsay founded Bright Pink, an organization that empowers women to take control of their health. Bright Pink is the only national non-profit that focuses on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in high-risk young women. It has grown into 10 national chapters and, at more than 50,000 women strong, it is helping women stay connected and healthy with educational workshops, counseling and support programs. Lindsay has helped raise over $2 million for the cause.

Bright Pink helps at-risk women stay healthy and strong.
